What kind of food is best suitable for an Aussie, we have a Lab and
everyone says that Nutro Lamb and Rice is good, but didnt know if it would
be different for an Aussie or not? Our little boy is 13 weeks old.

Hi, Adam!

I have an Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix, 5 months old. When we got her at 6wks, we started her on the Nutro Lamb and Rice, Large Breed Puppy formula. Well, as of the last couple of months, Nutro has stopped shipping that because of material supply problems. When she was 2 months, we had to switch her to the Nutro Large Breed Puppy, Controlled Growth formula because we couldn't find the other formula because of the supply issue. When we switched, they still had the Lamb and Rice Large Breed Puppy in can instead of the dry food, which we had been feeding her. We decided to mix the two, Large Breed Controlled Growth dry food, and Lamb and Rice Large Breed Puppy wet food. To be honest, the Controlled Growth Large Breed Puppy would be better, because Aussies are known for hip displacia (sp) when they get older, and this helps them not grow so quick, which is one reason for this problem. Oh, by the way, the Large Breed formulas are designed for dogs that will be 50 lbs or larger when they reach adulthood. Hope this helps!

Jerry
